Our Story
Frustration. Determination. Collaboration.
Watertight™ was born from real-world frustration, hands-on experience and a determination to solve a problem that had long been accepted in the bathroom industry — leaking shower screens.
Starts with a frustrated Installer.
In 2021, award-winning bathroom installer Brett Cattlin set out to solve the persistent leaks he encountered with swing bath screens and shower doors. After being unable to find a reliable solution in the market as a screen or seal, Brett dedicated thousands of hours to prototyping and development. His work led to his first breakthrough, resulting in a patent which is now granted in the UK.
Then along came Kim.
In 2022, after completing two bathroom installations for Kim, Brett shared his designs with her. Kim was running a lettings business at the time and had seen damage caused by leaky bath screens across her property portfolio. With previous experience in the building products industry, she immediately recognised the potential of Brett’s solution. Following extensive market research and industry validation, Kim provided investment and joined forces with Brett to launch products... and Watertight™ was born!
They improved the product.
Over the following years, Brett continued refining the designs to eliminate leaks from multiple points around the hinge while ensuring the products remained easy to install and suitable for mass production.
During this process, he also addressed additional issues such as green algae build-up commonly found in shower screens and how to avoid seals kinking.
A unique retrofit seal solution was later developed for already installed screens and even improves the seal that comes with the bath screen to make sure there is always a perfect fit.
Further patents were filed in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, reflecting continuous innovation and improvement.
They got ready to launch.
Reputable Chinese manufacturers were selected for manufacture and products refined for mass production and tooling commenced.
Watertight™ was awarded a UK government grant to support business growth and enable worldwide patent protection.
Significant interest from retailers and distributors for supplying both products, in the UK and abroad and many collaborations with industry experts and businesses with similar customer base.
The Watertight™ bath screen was showcased at the popular US KBIS show in February 2026, by our Chinese manufacturer and UK stock expected in summer 2026!
